Data Engineer

Your tasks & responsibilities
As Data Engineer, you are responsible for connecting, organizing and making data accessible so that the various stakeholders in the organization can make effective use of it. You use Business Intelligence to organize data from various databases into a so-called “data warehouse”.
- Maintain and further develop a Datawarehouse.
- Building connections between the Datawarehouse and various databases, such as the various ERP and financial systems of the companies in the group.
- Designing a conversion process to transform and translate input from different sources (cfr. ERP or financial systems) to the common IPCOM standard FACT and DIM tables.
- Setting up Powerbi reports on the data warehouse where the focus will be on working out the semantic model (correct relations, measures etc.).
- Operationally responsible for the functioning of the connections between the different databases and the data warehouse, and the correct translation to the common standard and the generation of reports.
- Optimizing the operational environment and increasing the robustness of the data interfaces.
- Monitoring the performance of the interfaces and report generation, performing technical optimizations where necessary.
- Investigate and develop AI capabilities and potential applications on the semantic models.
Your profile
- Master's degree in an analytical field (TEW, commercial sciences, computer science, etc)
- You have a strong interest in computer science
- You have 2-4 years of experience in a similar position, ideally in Big 4 or consulting environment
- You are 'system minded' and build technical knowledge easily. Knowledge of Microsoft Fabrics, Microsoft Dataflow, SQL, M and DAX is very welcome
- You like to follow the evolution of technology
- Fluent in English. Other languages are a plus
- Analytical thinking skills
- Punctual and precise (reports must be accurate)
